My Journey Traveling Costa Rica

From the Jungle to the Beach

I spent time in La Fortuna, Santa Teresa, and Tamarindo, and each place felt like a whole new chapter. La Fortuna was all about the jungle, the hot springs, and zip-lining through the trees. Santa Teresa was all about surfing and sunsets (plus one unforgettable horseback ride). And then there’s Tamarindo, where the surf’s great, the sunsets are amazing, and the night life is crazy.

La Foruna

Arenal Hanging Bridges
Rain or shine, the Arenal Hanging Bridges were an absolute dream. Your literally walking through a misty rainforest with towering bridges. We even saw monkeys and some ridiculously colorful birds and we probably would’ve seen a lot more if it wasn’t so rainy and foggy but still 100% worth it.

El Salto Rope Swing
A local tip led us to this hidden gem, and I’m forever grateful. There were no crowds, and completely free. We had a blast here and it was easy to get to and we all got some cool videos.

Fresh Coconut Love

Ok, I used to think coconut water was disgusting. But that was before Costa Rica. Our driver stopped, handed us fresh coconuts straight from the tree, and I swear it was a life-changing experience. If you think you don’t like coconut water, TRY IT HERE. I’m officially a convert.

Soda Las Palmas
For an authentic taste of Costa Rica, the little local eateries are where it’s at. Delicious traditional food, of all types, extremely cheap and extremely good!

Sky Adventures Zip lining
Zip lining with Sky Adventures was also an amazing experience. We booked through a hostel and got a discount and the owner of the hostel even lended us his car so we could drive there! We took 7? different zip lines through the jungle and got some amazing views. We even had a GoPro with us to get some good videos of how amazing the views were (If only Adri would upload them, I would have them to show you).

Tabacon Hot Springs
Costa Rica and hot springs go hand in hand, and Tabacon was one of my favorite things in La Fortuna Whether you go for the free ones or splurge on a resort pass (like I did), it’s worth every second.

Zip lining with Sky Adventures!

Santa Teresa: The Beach Dream Destination

Dreamcatcher Hotel Atrapasueños
This hotel was the perfect home base. Five-minute walk to the beach? Check. Pool, hammocks and sun beds for ultimate relaxation? Check. We loved staying here (though I’m not sure they loved us..we might’ve been slightly loud) everything from the location to cats and dogs roaming around it was perfect for us and it had the cutest interior!

Santa Teresa Beach
Sunsets. Surfing. Beachside restaurants. Volleyball courts. If there was ever a place designed for living your best beach life, it’s Santa Teresa Beach.

Horse Back Riding on the beach

Ollie’s Adventures Horseback Riding
Sunset horseback riding along the beach? Ollie’s Adventures offers the only horseback tours in town, and—it’s an experience you don’t want to miss. Pro tip: book it earlier in your trip so you know where all the good beaches are without the crowds.

Montezuma Waterfalls
Hiking to Montezuma Waterfalls was a journey to say the least. The trail is gorgeous, the waterfall is stunning, and if you’re feeling brave, you can even take a leap from the top. Afterward, take some time to explore Montezuma. I wish we had more time to explore the town there.

Tamarindo

Tamarindo Beach
Perfect for beginner surfers or just watching the sunset, the beach vibes are top-tier, and the sunsets feel like another world.

Sharky’s
Oh, Sharky’s. The bar we “accidentally” ended up at every night. Karaoke, themed parties, and pure chaos in the best way. Just keep an eye on your stuff—I may have left with fewer belongings than I arrived with, like my phone but at least I gained some wild stories.
